Budget: construction cost per m²
A sanity check on what a house costs to build in BCS, excluding land, permits and design fees.
Why it matters
Builders' quotes vary widely, and a realistic budget drives the license fee, IMSS and insurance.

Costs Estimate
- Across BCS: roughly MXN 15,000–35,000 per m² depending on finishes.
- Los Cabos mid-to-high finish: ~MXN 22,000–32,000/m²; luxury MXN 35,000–45,000+/m².
- Basic construction in La Paz has been quoted far lower (~MXN 5,000–13,000/m² on a consumer quote site), which likely reflects simpler finishes and excludes many items.
- Add for remote lots: trucking water and materials, a CFE line extension, a septic system, solar and a cistern.

Common mistakes

Say it in Spanish
- ¿El precio por metro cuadrado incluye IVA, acabados e instalaciones?
