Road access and power proximity
Confirming that the lot fronts a public road or has a recorded easement (servidumbre de paso), and how far the nearest CFE power line is.
Why it matters
Without legal access you may not get an alineamiento (step 4.16) or permits. CFE may charge you to extend lines.
Who helps
Your attorney (access), your surveyor (access as found on site), and CFE.
What to do: Confirm the lot has public road access and find the nearest power line.
Documents
- The survey, the deed (including any easements), and photos.
Costs Estimate
- A new CFE residential contract has no fee, only a deposit.
- If CFE must extend poles or a transformer, it charges an aportación (contribution) under a separate budget: no published figure until CFE quotes.
Estimates only. Get written quotes.
Common mistakes
- Dirt "roads" that cross private land with no easement.
Say it in Spanish
- ¿El camino de acceso es público o hay una servidumbre inscrita?
Is the access road public or is there a recorded easement?

Common questions
How much does it cost to bring power to a lot?
CFE quotes extensions case by case. Remote lots can be expensive; compare with off-grid solar.
